Weighing one pound eleven ounces (0.77 kilograms), the Twin Peaks Shelter is extremely light considering its 45 square feet of usable floor space, more than enough room for two people. It's pretty dang versatile too, take it with you on summer backpacking trips or ski tours, the peak ventialation reduces condensation in stormy weather and increases airflow making the MSR Twin Peaks Shelter safe enough to use in snowy conditions. Durable 30 denier ripstop nylon fabric coated with silicone and polyurethane gives good rain protection without adding significant weight to your pack. Trekking poles provide a taut pitch with lightweight tent stakes securing the corners, but you can pitch it using skis instead of the stakes, if you so choose.
